Mike Black is a fourth generation Montanan who was born and raised in Havre. Mike graduated with high honors from the University of Montana in Missoula with a degree in history/political science. Mike later graduated from the Cornell University Law School where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and Public Interest Law Union. He was admitted to practice in Montana in 1991. Mike joined Beck, Amsden & Stalpes, as of counsel, in 2017.

Mike's practice focuses on breach of fiduciary duty and ERISA matters, entity control litigation, consumer law, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, insurance law, constitutional law and complex civil litigation.

Mike is admitted to practice in all Montana state courts, Montana federal courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
